A Year of Wreaths: When to Swap Your Front Door Décor
Four swaps a year keeps a front door looking intentional without a closet full of wreaths. Here is the calendar we recommend to customers.
You do not need a wreath for every holiday. Most homes look best with four core wreaths plus one or two personality pieces — a game-day wreath, or something for a birthday or new baby.
Late February through May — Spring
Swap in soft pastels, tulips, hydrangeas, and light burlap as soon as the last hard freeze passes. Spring wreaths photograph beautifully on a white or navy door and set the tone for Easter and Mother's Day without being holiday-specific.
June through August — Summer and patriotic
Red, white, and blue carries Memorial Day through the Fourth of July and into Labor Day. Afterward, brighter florals, lemons, sunflowers, and coastal blues hold the door through the hottest weeks. Summer is when sun damage happens fastest, so shade matters more than the wreath itself.
September through November — Fall
Fall is the longest wreath season. Start with harvest tones — burnt orange, deep gold, wheat, sunflowers — in early September, and let the same wreath carry through Thanksgiving. Football wreaths in team colors overlap this window and are the most requested custom order of the year.
Late November through early January — Christmas
Hang your Christmas wreath the weekend after Thanksgiving and leave it up through New Year's Day. Classic red and green, or an all-white and silver design, both read as festive from the street. If you host, this is the wreath worth investing in.
January and February — the quiet stretch
A neutral winter greenery wreath or a simple monogram bridges the gap after the holidays. It keeps the door from looking bare while everything else is packed away, and it costs you nothing extra in storage space.
